Funnily enough, I checked that video out of the library this week. Yes, Ioan is in it. No, Matthew Rhys is not. I actually had a lot of trouble watching it for some reason... perhaps it was for the same reason that I didn't go to see "Monster's Ball" or "Y tu mama tambien."
For the Forsyte Saga poster-- doesn't almost everybody die in it? Depressing, isn't it?
Speaking of depressing, I've got to go ponder how I'm going to raise money for my summer abroad program. ::sighs:: Perhaps I'll just put off the traveling until my fifth year (and it looks like I'm gonna have to take a 5th) and just do the BUNAC Jobs Abroad thing.
Sorry for the digression... ::shuts up and broods::

Rented Wilde over the week-end, too and was very glad I did. the movie itself didn't do much for me, but I spent the whole time being giddy about all the people who seemed to be in it. I thought the part where Ioan Gruffudd gives Jude Law the look of death over "stealing" Oscar Wilde was hilarious. Wasn't supposed to be, I'm sure, but I still laughed at it. I also like Jennifer Ehle a lot and I was glad to see her again. And, Jamie Lee and James d'Arcy were in it for about 2 seconds each. By that point, I was ecstatic.

Do you think that Christian's mail really does get to him personally? That's a question. Does he get any mail at all? I am not so sure if he's getting like bags of fanmail, but then if not, he probably gets to read all of them unless his manager or PR does these things. I mean, how long has this site been around and we haven't heard ANYTHING at all from ANYONE...? I mean, something that is surely authentic. I am not so sure if we've heard anything at all from his handlers or his relatives or his friends... maybe they're just lurking around somewhere, but then... Maybe for him, acting and celebrityhood are two entirely separate concepts. I am going to have to agree with him, but then, man, we're growing... and I believe some of us are loyal! It feels like we're an invisible circus of sorts, and I feel like a clown performing in-front of an, er, COCEPTUALIZED audience! Pardon me, I just got back from a very interesting discussion with an utterly new acquaintance on self-expression and its validity to the society. It's been a personal issue regarding work, and my new friend and I are at this stage where we discuss up to what point we sacrifice the authenticity of our self-expression and work through this media where the whole of society becomes an audience and the challenge is that there is always this pressure that it has to be a sell-out. I quite get to identify this type of issue with Christian's, with what seems like to be his passiveness regarding celebrityhood, ergo, not wanting to be a sell-out. It's a deeper issue, I might say, and rather confusing. I see it is because if one wants to be a sell-out one has to project this kind of an 'expected persona' and therefore something has to be sacrificed. If a person is hanging on to something and doesn't want to let go of it, there comes the battle where things have to be compromised. Augh, I'll shut up now. To those who want to act in this thread, I just wonder if the reason behind that is the whole package of being an actress/actor? At some point I wanted to be an actress so that I can be another person, ie I want to be homicidal, poof, there's an excuse to be one for a short period of time but then you always get to go back to who you are... lost identities, I might say. Aw stop. SORRY ;D
