Summer has technically just finished, and we've just started Autumn here, but however March often tends to be just as hot as during the summer, if not hotter. At least all our bushfires are under control/gone....we haven't had that many in a long time, but then this was the hottest summer we've had in a long time too.

They have an absolutely horrible stomach virus going around here. Thank goodness I don't have it. People have it for weeks!

Oww! Forget that! I'd say "Keep 'em in! Keep 'em in!"
I don't have a very high pain threshold!

Adenoids!!! i was reading a book by one of my favourite authors - roald dahl, its called boy and its like his autobiography, and in it he said he had his adenoids taken out without anasthetic!!! OUCH There must be a medical reason....that's why some people can't have certain levels of anaesthetic.... Our ear/nose/throat doctor wants to fix my deviated septum (bone in my nose) because it affects my ears (infections, etc). According to him, I'd be given an anaesthetic so I'd be "in between." haaaahhhaaahaaaaaahhaaaa..he has no idea....BAD IDEA! When I was given that "happy gas" for tooth extractions, I'd been "in between" and disattached from my body and my mom was in there and said they'd panicked---so you see, BAD IDEA!!!!! On the other hand, I had a couple surgeries when I was young, and was given total anaesthetic to go under. (No pain. ) My mom recently told me that the anaesthesiologist would bring his own anaesthesia with him for me because he knew I couldn't handle the hospital's own anaesthesiac medicine. Here's some of the best advice: BE FRIENDLY WITH YOUR ANAESTHESIOLOGIST. I read that somewhere, and it's true. ;D Here's hoping everyone feels better! Donna

Yeah I read Dahl's "Boy" and the sequel "Going solo" for English in year ten maybe? I think it was quite awhile ago when he had his adenoids out since he's pretty oldish now....maybe they did things differently back then? I can't quite remember the reason, although I remember him having them out.....

I had my wisdom teeth out a long time ago, in the '80's, and my face blew up like a balloon and I was off my feet, literally (everytime I got up I got dizzy) for 2 weeks. However when my brother got his out in the '80's, he wasn't nearly as bad. From my understanding, the procedure isn't as devastating to your well-being anymore...lol...they improved it somewhat.

Don't get me started on operations: I've had pins put in my hip (very painful operation that, meant a week in hospital without being allowed out of bed, then a few more days where I could move around on crutches, crutches for about two months, and then funny walking for a few more weeks), pins taken out (pretty painful too, although only day surgery, so I was stuck at home for a few weeks. And the funny thing was they could only get one of the two out, so one is still stuck in there which is a pain), Appendix out (In the middle of year 12 exams), a laparoscopy for my endometriosis or actually two of them......

Wisdom teeth! Man, I know what that's all about. I had mine out last summer, and does your face EVER swell up like a balloon! I almost died when I found out they would be jabbing the anaesthetic needle in me and they would be leaving it in my arm the entire operation. Right on the wrist too. The worst part is not being able to chew for days, though.

Actually I've been wondering lately whether I am getting my wisdom teeth because one side of my face is really sore, like my jaw, and I can't even put my bottom and top teeth together cos they wont go cos they hurt!! It better not be my wisdom teeth, I can't be bothered with that......

I've been fortunate enough to not have had many injuries. The worst was when I dislocated and fractured a bone in my hand, and the orthopedist had to yank it back into place. Being a wimpy eleven year-old at the time, I screamed and ran out of the office, scaring all the nurses. LOL.
