atleast your friends sat around and listened to you and seemed to enjoy your singing! my friends are evil! they dare me to sing and then..they laugh in my face when i try to do high notes and my voice cracks! lol ;D ;D
i think it's more the experience of sleeping out side that appeals to ppl..i would seriously do it, so that i could say to my grandkids that i was on AI and i slept beside so and so who won the competition ;D

I can't sleep outside for several nights....I mean, geez....I have my hair....which would need washing...<g>....and my contacts....and my makeup...my clothes would get all wrinkly.....that's if I were actually good enough, which I am not...which is fine........because I can't sleep outside for several nights....I mean, geez...I have my hair...which would need washing....<g>....and my contacts...and my makeup...

Who did Simon peg "the worst singer in the world"? Hmm....well first, they were in Atlanta (Paula wasn't there due to another commitment), and Atlanta seemed to have quite a bit of talent. There was one guy---tall, skinny, red hair (looked like a Weasley) and he introduced himself saying he deserves to be the American Idol, and that he would definitely have been at least in the top 10 last year. Of course, 95% of the worst singers say that, but when he started singing....a voice came out that was soooo unlike his look....and Simon said exactly what I'm sure we were all thinking, that he had a super voice but he didn't *look* like a pop star. They still okayed him, tho, saying he needed to work on his "style." Another auditioner was a chubby young woman who didn't have the hair, the face (unmade), the clothes, or anything, but she had the voice. After she sang, Simon made the point that this year something very interesting was happening---it appeared as if it would be a competition between *style* and *talent.* As for the "worst singer in the world"---lol...despite the seemingly plethora of talent Atlanta had to offer, a guy came in with one of the worst haircuts anyone could ever have---sorta like those "bowl" haircuts that moms sometimes give their little boys cuz it's the easiest way to cut their hair. And he'd just been saying out in the waiting area that he'd let it grow  . Also, he wasn't dressed appropriately---he was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. His whole "look", however, was nothing compared to his voice. He went in there and started singing "Like a Virgin" and it was um, truly one of the *oddest* things I've heard. It's like he wasn't *quite* singing---or rather he was trying to manipulate the contours of the song to the dimension in which he lived, cuz it didn't seem like the THIRD....lol.....I couldn't even understand some of the words....they let him go on and on, tho, partly because I think Simon couldn't believe it, and Randy had some papers up in front of his face and was laughing silently...then they asked him to sing another song, I think just to make sure that he hadn't just fashioned "Like a Virgin" that way, but he sang the next song that way, too..... Simon told him of course "I think you might be the worst singer in the world"---and the poor guy was, um, visibly surprised. He told him "Well I know I'm not the best singer in the world, but...." and Simon said, "Well is there anything else you could possibly do?" and the guy said, "Well I dance"----at which I hoped they would ask him to dance, but oh well. <g> I said to my manicurist this afternoon (she also watches the show), "Didn't anyone ever tell him not to go on the show?" and she made a good point here, that the guy had told Simon and Randy that he'd still continue his singing.  Tonight the show is on from 8:30-10:00, with further auditions (in order to get down to the 32). The theatre they're in used to be a movie theatre. I saw Star Wars there. The funniest "Idol" moment last night HAD to be Marcus Curtis sucking up to the judges... "I don't know what was up with us guys today..."
OMG! I wanted to smack him silly... But it was pretty funny.

OMG, I know!!! I mean, I could understand why that other guy was annoyed at him---there's certain times when you keep your mouth shut, and there's certain times you talk.....what was funny was Marcus saying later "Well that's just the way I always am,"---so in other words, he 'sucks up' all the time!!!! Here's my general observations from last night: ~~~Mostly, the only guys to actually deserve to go on, based on the *performances*, were the first 3 guys to perform, and 1 or 2 of the others, if that. ~~~I dunno what was goin' on with that quartet of girls--it seemed like maybe miscommunication OR (as I've seen in theatre) very different rehearsal strategies, but Mary's sister yelling at the 3 others seemed just too much. ~~~Very little of Ryan. Either he wasn't involved much in those few days, or they cut him out greatly because of the pathetic performances (nothing was funny to do). ~~~Following the singers who were crying after being told they were out was WAAAYYY beyond proper. Ok, as they run off, camera can watch them, but don't FOLLOW them! The pretty 16-yr-old blonde girl who had to retreat to the corner made me mad---in particular because she reminded me of one of my students. ~~~The um, 'biggest' female singer---I forget her name---should be signed up by a label as soon as she's let go from American Idol---it doesn't matter if she makes it to #1, or in the top ten, or whatever---she can SING. by now, you prolly know it was Kimberly, but Clay did well also. I think he's the guy donna was talking about earlier...
and did any of you guys hear about Frenchie? Apparently, she was on an adult site and was in explicit pics and videos. They AI ppl didn't want their name to be associated with that kind of stuff, so they booted her. However, one of the producers said that they will try their best to give her a contract becuz the girl can sing!
personally, i say that she should've told them before so that she wouldn't feel that she did all that work for nothing...but, talent begets money..and she'll be the next Kelly Price.. ;D

I read that Frenchie had posed topless for a site that had pics of underage girls.
This is somewhat of a test to see what I hope isn't happening....that the latest post doesn't go to the top of the board....because.....that's the way the doll forum I belong to operates....and posts aren't read at all because they get lost....
