I just watched an hour and a half of auditions and it was ONE OF THE MOST FREAKIN' HILARIOUS THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN ON TELEVISION! Moments I plan on re-enacting for my family: The girl with chin-length red hair crying, "He called me Kelly Osbourne!"......The guy with the teddy he named after Simon, tossing it angrily on the floor....the NY dude who couldn't seem to find anyone in NYC who sang worse than him (with Ryan Seacrest's help!!!!) ROFLLLLLL hhhhaaaahhaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa Um, does anyone watch this besides Sampaguita and myself? Or are we the only two geeks on here who like it? I watched the "Where they are now" show after, and 1)a few of them don't seem to be much of anywhere 2)Kelly's hairdo in her and Justin's upcoming movie---this is my face to that hair, Kelly: :-/lol and 3)Ryan Starr I still adore you. Perhaps we are.
I have to say that I was extremely relieved that they let both the twins go on to Hollywood.
As for funny: It was pretty gosh darn funny when that dude that sang "All or Nothing" couldn't find many people worse than him. (I believe they found one... but I think I saw Ryan slip him some money in the bottom of the frame.) It was really kinda hilariously sad when they backed away from him singing on the street corner.
Speaking of hilariously sad-- That dude Edgar, you know, the Enrique Iglesias wannabe. I can't believe that he tried to slip back into the audition line. I was POSITIVELY ROLLING when he was arguing with the camera people.
Oh and Ryan Seacrest creating a fake catfight... wonderful.
See the other thread for Simonisms (or Snape-isms) with regards to "Hogwarts Idol." [that's HP Predictions]

That Enrique wannabe....I was literally rofl! omg, I wonder if he just did it all as a joke..I mean, in a way, on some level, I hope that he knew completely what he was doing.... lol That one girl who sang rea ll lll lll lll l y s lo w ww lllllleeeeee......that editing was hilarious and inspired ...the sunset...the changing seasons...Simon's comment that she could never make a record cuz she wouldn't ever finish it.... Yeah what are they going to do with the twins? I mean, if they make it far enough are they going to set them up as a matched pair and have the public vote for them as one? As for Ryan setting up the "catfight"---lol---it seemed for some certain moments, those girls thought he was serious. <g> Another hour and a half tonight!!!

Well, we have a similar show in Belgium called 'Idool 2003' and it's really funny. Some people are so convinced that they have talent, but actually they can't sing. The jury can be so cruel. I'm glad I didn't enter the competion, because I probably wouldn't have been good enough.

Last night leads me to more questions. What I mean is, there were a couple of guys last night who seemed as if they HAD to know(!) they were awful (on the other hand, why would they sleep out all night in such cold?who knows).....and HOW on earth do most of the people get past the "first" audition? I think it was Ryan Seacrest who actually said they need to get past the first judges to get into Simon and Paula and Randy. Sampaguita, and anyone else, what did you think of that one girl who made it in via her persistence? I didn't quite understand why they turned her down in the first place; I thought she was better than some of those they told ok to Hollywood. Could it be that maybe they simply didn't *like* her? Paula seemed turned off by her immediately. (watch the chick win LOL). Oh btw, Ryan Seacrest has signed a contract for 2 or 3 (I don't recall which exactly) more years at 98.7. I also read that he will fill in for Rick Dees sometimes, which doesn't make sense to me cuz that guy is on another station (ugh he annoys me). Donna

I thought the girl was good, but I think that I kinda get why they might not have said "yes" right off the bat. It had nothing to do with her look-- image-wise she's got pop potential. She did well with her first song, but I think it was like the 50th time someone sang that song ("At Last" if I remember correctly) and her rhythm wasn't QUITE up to par-- which didn't really matter to them most of the time, but this was the billionth time they'd heard the song. Her sense of syncopation (or rubato-- I couldn't quite get what she was trying to do) was unwarranted.
But she did have a great voice. In order to get out of the "Augh! I've already heard this, I'm suffering from ear fatigue" sensibility, they asked her to sing different things.
I'm glad Ryan will be on the radio some more. I think "Idol" is getting to his head a little bit, but then he's always been an attention hog. I'm a little biased where he's concerned. He was my first "celebrity" crush. It makes sense that he'd fill in for Rick Dees every once in a while. All those stations are with Clear Channel Communications. They've all got the same boss.
Okay, I've gotta go add into an independent/special studies thing right now.

i actually watched AI..and omg, HOW in the heck do these ppl go so far? lol..i was laughing at the guy who was in detriot with the really really HIGH voice..roflol ;D ;D ;D and about the girl who was chosen for being really annoying and asking for second chances...well, i agree with sampaguita...she sucked..i mean all she sang was "OHHH NOOO..OHHH" omg..but there were some really sad ppl out there..i mean, how do your friends tell you to try out? are they tone deaf as well? i mean, if my friend sucked, i would not be evil and let them believe they could sing in the first place.. and the only part of the show i actually like is the auditions..other than that, i only watch the finale! lol ;D

And NO ONE told them, "Um, would you like to go outside a moment? Cuz I'd like to tell you something...." LOL

Oh, you were talking about THAT girl. Bleck. Yeah, she had a voice, but her presentation was simply dreadful. She played off her nervousness well, but if I'd been a judge having to sit through days and days of horrible auditions, I wouldn't have much patience by the time that girl rolled around.
We're only subjected to 3 hours of it, thank goodness!

I was POSITIVELY ROLLING when he was arguing with the camera people. Haven't had a chance to post in awhile because I've had exams. When he came on I was actually crying, he was THAT funny! LMAO! When he sang, "you can run, you can DIE but you can't escape my love" or when he was like "they asked me to come back to audition for Hero" No I think the best part was when he fell to his knees while singing! LMAO! HE WAS HILARIOUS! ;D ;D

i've realized that a) the judges have become MEANER than before and it looks like they're trying too hard to be mean. Like randy, i mean, he's prolly a nice person in real life, but after Simon's natural meaness got soo much attention, he's deliberately saying things to make the person feel even worst. he should've just stuck to his "angela, angela, angela" thing.. b) ppl have noticed that you get on TV if you're a bad singer, not a good one..so, everyone wants the 15 mins of fame and AI seems to be the answer
btw, i'm a HORRIBLE singer, if AI came over here, i would be on the show, and i'm not even joking around..i sound like, the enrique guy, but make it a girl's voice..lol

Well I wouldn't sleep out in the cold several nights in a row and then sing horrible just to get on tv!!! Memory: <g>: in my freshman year of high school people used to ask me to sing for them at lunch. I'm far from the greatest singer, trust me---but they used to ask me to sing for them. (And no, they weren't laughing at me.) Bizarrrrro.
