Great question! (since i woke up I've been getting involve in discussions here) From book-discussion to movie-discussion. *Rubs hands*
The movie/s that has made a certain impact on me...
*"Run, Lola, Run" It's so marvelous I went out of the cinema in tears (why do I feel emotional today?) That's the movie that sealed what I WANT... to be a filmmaker.
* "The Discovery of Heaven", it's a British-Dutch film, meaning it's based on a Dutch novel by Harry (Henry?) Mulisch. The story is about Divine Interevention--- in a negative way. God wants his Ten Commandments tablets back, and the angels formulates the RIGHT person to fulfill the mission. So this follows a young man's history from how his parents and surrogate father met, why these so and so things happen that includes death... just for the sake of bringing the tablets back to Heaven. That movie somehow stirs my agnostic inclinations since I stepped on college, but heck, that would be another discussion. No, I am not agnostic, I just had INCLINATIONS. Anyway.
*The movies "Jerry Maguirre", "Erin Brokovich" and "Vanilla Sky". REALLY. Oh, yes, "Almost Famous"
*"Amelie". For some weird reasons, I am like her, although not as timid. It's the whole 'detached from mankind' thing, as I would quote Kundera.
*"Magnolia". The Aimee Mann songs. The "we might be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us". The Aimee Mann song that says, "It's not going to stop 'til you wise up". OUCH.
*"Billy Elliot" What can I say? I just love it. It's about going after your dreams. Oh, incidentally, while typing this, the song "Cosmic Dancer" is playing. Haha.
*and of course... "Life is Beautiful". I wish there's a lot more of Guido Orefice (Roberto Benigni) character in all of mankind. silentSigh
