THIS RUMOR AGAIN!!!!!!!!! The production of that musical isn't even running in the UK. As far as I know, there are no plans of production for "Miss Saigon" ANYWHERE in the near future-- And I follow "Miss Saigon" news VERY closely. (It's one of my academic projects in the realm of "critical theory and pop culture.)-- See the thread "Weird things at the yahoo group." There is a "Miss Saigon" company that is currently touring the United States... and I believe that it's still running in some countries in Asia. From what we know of Coulson, isn't he adamantly basing himself in Great Britain? I mean, don't get me wrong. I'd love to see him here in the U.S. and I'd love to hear that he's doing work in Asia, but I doubt it. There were some people at the yahoo group that were asking me this same question... but this was over a month ago. I don't know how and why this rumor is persisting. Where did you hear it? Oh and about this musical... It's an updated version of the story behind the opera "Madame Butterfly." I'll post the basic story of "Miss Saigon" in a subsequent post... On some level, I find the musical to be a bit offensive... On another level, I think it's a beautifully tragic story.

I got to read an interview of one of those Filipinas who played Kim... Carla Guevarra in an FHM issue (yeah, I can't believe I got my hands on a couple of copies, but I have my professional reasons, hah), and she says that she thinks Kim is stupid for taking her life.
I thought that Miss Saigon's last production was the one held here in Manila a couple of years ago... or is that for a particular production outfit, the one by Mackintosh or whatever his name is... you know, Leah Salonga's Miss Saigon producer?
Speaking of plays, I just love "The girl thingy Monologues"... I haven't seen the translated Filipino version though, and I heard it's so funny, esp. when they translate the word girl thingy. I just can imagine it ;D
