abril, he did romeo and juliet for a few weeks in october. it was a great production, in a small theatre which i think made it a better performance, like u felt closer to the actors/drawn into the play lol i know rachel is it too much to ask just to hear him doing a girly voice, all we want wb is that 1 line! lol oh, now I see the date this topic was originally posted was some time ago ^^;;. ThankĀ“s for the info and I guess it sure was much more a closer feeling than in a big theatre.

To those who have seen CC as Romeo, can anyone please estimate his height? I am not so sure about his being a six-footer. And is that right, he's THAT skinny? Does he look skinny because that looks like his body type, or he simply looks, uh, malnourished? Like his rib cage is almost poking out of his chest? I don't mind chesthairs, tough At least he doesn't shave or waz them. That would be totally questionable.

i didn't think he looked that tall in r&j i'd have said about 5'9" something like that.
he is very skinny, u could see his ribcage. my mum said he was way too skinny. but i think that's just his body type he didn't look ill or anything!

Lizifer...Was there any chemistry between CC and the girl who played Juliet??I know its getting boring, but its a good way to tell whether hes gay or not.

both him and juliet were great actors but basically no there wasn't chemistry like i couldn't feel the chemistry/that spark between them! unless they were just having 'off-days' when i went to see it!

Romeo and Juliet without chemistry?!!! Kinda like [horrible] Leonardo diCaprio and [splendid] Claire Danes? Ugh. Well, at least CC promises to be a better Romeo than [yucky] di Caprio.

Yeah, it's the only Baz Luhrman production I hate. I'm not a purist in terms of literature and stage production, but the movie was too saturated for the story. It's a film, so subtlety is key (unlike theatre) and di Caprio's inflection barely ever changed. I'm almost glad that my friend never returned my tape of that production.
And about "The Maids," I agree. Oh, and that leads me to another one of my soap box issues... Why is it that whenever a woman's too skinny she gets accused of an eating disorder and when a man is too skinny he doesn't? [I'M NOT ACCUSING CC OF ANYTHING OF THE SORT, I'm just saying, why the double standard?]

there's always a double standard...regardless of wat the issue...
but, when talking about eating disorders, it's very uncommon in men..it still occurs, but they [the men] do not want to admit that they have a "girl" problem...anyways, usually girls want to get thin whereas, guys want to get bigger [muscle wise]..that's why guys are considered "skinny" and girls are considered "anorexic"

I love Baz Lhurman... I have this silly dream of working with him in the future (production part). What he did in Romeo and Juliet was quite daring though it initially gave me a headache. Moulin Rogue rocks! I kinda like Whoopi's crack at the Oscars about Baz not getting nominated in the Best Director category... after showing a segment of the spectacles of Moulin, camera goes back to Whoopi and says something like, "And all that without a director!"
Maybe Christian wants to look like a 'starving artist', heh. He carries the look anyway, I would rather have him skinny than buffed.

What's The Maids about? His makeup was very over-done. He looked kinda like Papa Ge in Once On This Island...
