I was just wondering when most people "discovered" CC. I sadly was not aware of his lovely existance until I saw COS, but I knew after that I was in love. Since then I have been obsessed and have secretly been hiding my guilty secret from my boyfriend. I am sorry to say that I would be hard pressed to turn down the lovely Mr. Coulson, if you know what I mean. Cough cough ahem sorry. He is too beautiful to be alive! Anyway, I was just curious to see what other people thought. I can't believe I had the Forsyte Saga on and I didn't pay attention because I didn't know he existed at the time! I also agree with whoever said that CC has been her fantasy escape...to me, I see him as a sort of hero in a romance novel.

I didn't know him until the COS either, but then I'm Australian so I've sorta' got an excuse right?

And why is my reply deleted? Honestly, I`m getting sick of pop-ups and stupid "censorship".

just a tip -
there's less chance of having a post deleted, i'm sure, if you maintain even minimal respect for people's opinions and feelings, and voice your own as exactly that - your own, not gospel.
incidentally, i discovered christian coulson the same way as lizifer... i was checking out the hp news boards and when i saw that tom riddle had been cast, i had to check who'd gotten the part.
little could i have dreamed they'd make such, such a good choice ;D

I first heard of Mr. Coulson through Josh Kun (that tiny man in my avatar) who actually knew of him through a friend of his that knew him (CC) at Cambridge (the circles in Academia are pretty incestuous, I hear). There's a copy of his portrayal of Salieri floating around BTW-- it has such a homemade quality to it... Anyways, that was sometime during my first year of university life (I think)... I'd virtually forgotten about him until I saw the CoS hype of the summer, and THEN almost abandoned my crush on hip-hop journalist Oliver Wang in favor of gawking at CC 24/7... but Mr. Wang is THISCLOSE to his PhD and more attainable, so I'm content to mildly admire Mr. Coulson for now.

No, my post was deleted because I mentioned sex. I won`t be posting here anymore. Sorry but freedom of speech is my constitutional right. Good bye.

It's only your freedom of speech and consitutional right until it infringes the freedoms and rights of another, which in this case might be the right to a safe environment. I hardly deem it appropriate for an 8 year old girl reading posts in the formums to be reading about sex.
At any rate, I first saw Christian Coulson when they originally casted him as Tom Riddle (it was posted on the BBC) site. ;D

that is so true. i mean, its only freedom of speech to a limit... we should have like a Terms of Use thing to our site, so its written somewhere that we do not allow things like: *profanity, obscenities, or sexual content *personal attacks on other people (individually or as a group) *slanderous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening and harassing suggestions, comments and/or images *links to third party commercial Web sites *other information that Admin Members deem, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate for this site. okay well those are some suggestions... im actually not sure about the sexual content however on christian... bcuz thats just sometimes talked about around here... maybe sexual content to an extent, as long as it remains pg13 or pg... lol and hello, i should be working on my term paper thats due today... o well.

We need spice here, something to break the monotony. I think what some are suggesting is to be less brash with the use of words. I think what Nicole is saying about 8year-olds also include people who are not mature enough to accept 'touchy' discussions. I have nothing against sexual discussions by the way. Nor the mention of 'sex'. As long as it is RELEVANT and discussed with more than a hint of decency. And as far as the subject of freedom goes, there's always the responsibility that goes with it, and the responisbility goes two ways. I am not a fan of censorship, to be honest, because it implies that the recipients of the information is not trusted enough to take some matters maturely and responsibly, but then it is up to the poster if he/she thinks that the readers are mature enough to be reading the postings; the administrators have the right to 'censor' the stuff here, but up to what extent? There are postings that are obviously not necessary to the thread, but then maybe the filtering is not to the extremes? I don't know what Romana posted, wouldn't be up to us, the readers, to well, remark whether such posting should be allowed or be scolded? I am just wondering. Romana and Nicole (and Lydia C) have their points; we cannot all be black and white here. This is a message board, after all.

Hmm.....
I think that we have to remember that ANYONE can come onto this board and read it as long as they have access to a computer and know how to type into a search engine. 10-year-olds, Christian himself, Christian's mum, my mom, my students, Christian's friends, my students' moms..........ANYONE.
Perhaps some of us have been treating this board as a slumber party---I don't know about you, well SOME of you---but I think a lot of us are in the same boat---I don't know anyone *else* personally who has Christian's pictures on their wall. HOWEVER, we need to remember that posting here is just like if we were to have a slumber party at one of our houses and everything that is said within the four walls were broadcast verbatim on a digital scoreboard that's up in the sky and everyone who wants to can look up and read what we're saying.
Thus, anything that I personally have deleted/edited I have looked upon from the viewpoint of the possibility of Christian's family and any children from any country in the world visiting this website.

I don't think anyone on this forum should really be censored. Unless the person in question is writing smut/porn, I don't see a problem with it. But some people probably find language and sexual content offensive, and I guess I don't blame them. Still, maybe it would be better to just ask peope not to mention sex in a certain way or whatever, instead of just deleting posts. Romana, please come back.

Umm, I don't know why my topic turned into a forum about censorship, but I just wanted to know if anyone else wanted to share their CC experiences. BTW, hung some pictures of Tom Riddle up the back of my door, am feeling like a rebel
