Iwas a week away in the alps, skiing . or more tring to ski. As Istarte with 3 years, Ican emeber having every year wonderfull snow in Austria during our hlidays. But this time it was bad, really bad. The only snwo we have was that one from the machine. And not on all pists. Just a few. So everyone went there and a lot of beginners were on it. Just ice or 30cm of the machine snow. I was only one day skiing and that was enough. I didn't wanted to risk to damage my new skis.
Well I am back now and sorry for my cnfuse english ;D

I love skiing! I'm originally from Massachusetts, and I used to ski all the time. That's the one thing I can't stand about Florida: no mountains and nothing even remotely resembling snow!

I do, too. I can't remember a winter without doing it. During the age 8-12 I was doing skiing in a sportsteam with races. KNow what I mean? From December to March every weekend was a race or trainig. Every Monday an Wednesday during the whole year (except Holydays) runnig through the forest. Than I got injured on my knee. I had to stop this, but am allowed to do it for fun. And I do that and when I am on my skis I am really happy! and there we go every year!: see the mountain behind? It's my favourit, Know everythng on it ;-)

don't give up, when you don't proof after a few tries.Ican't remeber myself not knowing how to ski, but when I watch all this beginners who are not able to make o bow after a few days, I am not sure whether I would give up.
It is not easy I think start skiing as a teen or older. The best is to start as a child. I can rember a little bit on my first ski.school experience when I was 3. It was hard alsways walking with skis tha small mountain up, but all mountains with elevators (do you says tha?) were to difficult. Now, I love red runways, blacks only makes fun, when there is enough snow ;-) And Ialso love digs ;D I remeber my last ski school course (when i was 14). The guy (18) was from the toen and lived on the mountain we used to ski every day. He knew all he showed us ass digs. Btw he was very cute ;D
So, if you want to try it, do it and please don't give up! I would show and teach you how to ski, but I think, we live far away from ach other!

*adopts best Wormtail servile tone* My Lord, When you'll be strong again, you can make your parents take you to Switzerland or anywhere else you desire. Just a matter of time.
Seriously though, I know several of my friends who live in Europe managed to get their parents to take them on trips or buy things for them after they finished high school, or got into uni. Is there any way you get your parents to do that? I love the pic, but do any of you know if they have any outdoor skating rinks around? I never managed to get passed the going downhill without killing myself stage when it comes to skiing. Skating would be nice, though!!

there are two ways to stop! One, you make yor ski tops together, thet you get a turned V or, if you can do it better, you do it turn your ski parallel go deep and lean you at the mountain ski. seems I give you a far away ski-school-trainig ;D

I'm horrible at stopping! *laughs* I can ski, I can ski-jump, but for some reason I've never mastered stopping. Usually I just throw myself to the ground.

I just read the title of this subject and thought how nice it would be to be in the middle of winter. We're bang smack in the middle of summer over here and it's pretty hot to say the least: today is 38 degrees which doesn't seem to bad, but I went out before and it was so d**n hot!! My car was like a furnace even with the air con on!! I'm hoping for a cooler summer but I don't think that's going to happen, especially since we've all been put on fire alert, and been given water restrictions!
