This is in response to ausaims' question about whether or not there's different covers---yes there are. Here's the link showing the full cover art of the 4 USA HP books: www.angelfire.com/mi3/cookarama/grandpre.html Be sure to look closely at POA's back cover, shown on the left hand side. Sirius and Lupin are shown in their animagus forms. JKR had said that she hoped that no illustration of Harry would be made---that she hoped we readers could imagine the characters on our own. Nevertheless, she's also said that the US covers are her favorite. I like them too. Mary Grandpre ties in the wholeness of the book(s) rather than just including one aspect. And I suppose I don't mind her extra illustrations inside, either, because she doesn't paint true to form. Hence, the shapes of the people are not realistic---I guess I look at the pictures as more symbolicof the characters. If you ever want to buy a different country's HP edition, a good place to go is amazon. I've bought from amazon.co.uk numerous times. I even had an order that was late and they were very nice to deal with. (here I am--sounding like a commercial for amazon lol).....on the other hand.... I read on a HP fanlisting that amazon is not shipping out OOTP till JULY 3rd. That's JULY 3rd. I don't know if it's correct or not, but if I had ordered it from them, I'd check it out. :)Donna

i think the UK covers are bland..really, i have the UK GoF and it's ugly.. and has anyone seen the covers for the Adult versions of Hp books? they have stuff like steam trains and eagles on the front! roflol! ;D Yeah...I don't understand the British versions at all...(no offense to the British---I mean, h*ll---I think you can all tell I'm a fan of the British ).......but the first cover, for example, of HPPS---just Harry by the train. That doesn't tell me much. A boy by a train, whatever. And the cover for COS----the flying car is not the center of the story....it's amazing how everyone loves the freakin' flyin' car. LOL. (Um,..on the other hand, location breaks down...sooooo I guess the car IS, in a manner of speaking, the center of the story ). Anyhow, I digress. And those "adult" versions for people being embarrassed to read them---c'mon, people! A good book is a good book! Hey I just looked up and that eye-rolly face is asleep. I guess it's tired.
