If you guys have seen Cuaron's Y Tu Mama Tambien, you're gonna be shocked he's gonna do HP, hahaha. When I found that out I was shocked--- as shocked upon seeing the opening scene of Y Tu Mama where a young teeny-couple were humping! I haven't seen it but I heard it was er.. racy. I've also heard nothing is going to dramatically change with the movie, he's going to stay loyal to the books blah blah.. But I like a change.

Even I was picturing Alan Rickman as Snape when I read the books, but when you look at the age they're all supposed to be (correlating with Harry's dad), his casting now seems ridiculous in the face of that. I wonder if they even considered the plotline and background of POA when they cast him. (?) Someone on the net was mentioning Ralph Fiennes as Sirius. He is the right age. I still love the idea of Ewan as Lupin...he could definitely pull it off....it wouldn't be that hard to have him "age" just a bit (he's in his early 30's).....someone else mentioned Jude Law as Sirius....wow....but, again, Rickman is obviously old enough to be their father. i like the idea of jude law i don't think they considered future plot lines when they cast the characters coz i saw/read an interview somewhere with columbus saying about ginny, how he didn't know whether she'd be ok with the acting required in the 2nd movie as she only had 1 line in the 1st one. so they probablly didn't think of snape's future role either.

Columbus really said that? Are you sure? You mean to tell me that he cast Bonnie Wright for the sake of one line in the first movie even tho he knew they were doing a 2nd movie and she had a bigger role? I mean, seriously, he didn't have her or anyone else read "further" for the role? Boy, did we all luck out on that one. Donna

Oh wow that's funny. Really funny. But I mean it's not like they had any time to cast her. Not much anyway, I forgot when they completed filming the first movie.
As for me I guess I would cast someone before hand, but I don't think I'd but that person in the movie yet... I wouldn't want to spend my time hurrying around looking for actors and actresses.

Rickman is ok as Snape though I had pictured him to be be THIN, with hollow cheeks. Rickman should lose weight, then.

i think rickman is an excellent snape but he is a bit chubbier in the face than i pictured him too, but i think voice/actions wise he's great

OMG!!!!!! I completely humiliated myself (and my friends ~sorry, guys) at the movies. When he came on, I jumped up on my seat and started screaming. Then I fell headfirst onto the people in front of me. They were nice, though; they told me to be quiet, but they didn't call security. Then when he disappeared, I started crying hysterically, and everyone shushed me. It was funny. And when Dumbledore makes the speech at the end, and people give Harry an ovation, I booed him and yelled, "Tom Riddle is the real hero! It should be called 'Tom Riddle and the Chamber of Secrets!'" Now my friends have refused to go to the movies with me.
