Collin was a crack up. Esspecially loved the bit in the movie where he was taking photos when Harry and Draco were chasing the snitch and then nearly got hit by the rogue bludger. The look on his face made me laugh!  |

P.S Tom Felton seems to be one of the nicer members of the HP cast though. My friends little sister sent him an email, and he actually replied and was really nice and it made her day.

tom feltons acting was great! far better than the rest of the [younger] casts! am i the only one who laughs every time i see hagrids ''blimey harrys got himself a rogue bluder! thats been tamered with that has!'' omg that line is so pathetic its funny! ausaims i replied about the email thing on jen's boards but i'll say it here aswell; thats so cool and colin made me laugh especially at the quidditch match and when he 1st introduced himself to harry! |

Hmm...I didn't realize I was opening up a discussion on Tom Felton's performance as Draco Malfoy...... ::)lol..... Some people really don't like his acting at all. Some do. Personally, I think he did a good job. But again, any quibbles we have with the performances of anyone I tend to blame on the director. Ausaims, it's nice to hear he responded to your friend's little sister. I recently read somewhere that Viggo Mortensen used to reply to fanmail but lately it's gotten so voluminous that it's impossible for him to do that anymore. Oh....<g>...my brother does a great impersonation of Ron's (ie Rupert's) face...you know, his 'bewildered' look. Anyway he did that the other day and it always sends me off to fits of laughter. I told him that some people think (Rupert's) the best of the kid actors but my brother said, "Epiphany." I was like, "What?" and he said, "Epiphany...right?" I said, "Oh. HERMIONE!" lol Donna |

I love little Tom Felton as an actor! Mostly because of his performance in "Anna and the King"-- I defy any of you to watch that scene where he says "I didn't touch you, I shoved you! Why don't you get one of your slaves to shove me back?!!" without cracking a smile.
As for his performance in HP-- Like Donna, I blame Chris Columbus. He doesn't prize subtlety at all... Look at the way he extracted overexaggerated performances from Rupert and Emma...
Did anyone else thoroughly enjoy the interaction between Ginny and Draco in the Flourish and Blotts scene? I think Tom and Bonnie's performance rose above the planned mediocrity at that point. That beat served as a slightly pregnant pause and it was just wonderful.

ahhh to have mail off viggo, i love that mans voice, i could listen to him for hours......  anyway, lmao donna, ur brother and epiphany, too funny! i'm yet to see anna and the king, but i've heard he was good in it. as for the flourish and blots scene, loved it up untill authur weasley apparered, then i thought it kinda went down-hill  and totally agree with ruperts overexaggeration at some points during the movies. |

Lizifer, you should really see "Anna and the King." It was really good. I used to watch "The King and I" over and over when I was a kid. Then in '96 I was in the musical. I played Princess um....well the one that begs Anna to stay. Anyhow since doing rehearsals every night and 40 shows of it, I haven't had a desire to see the movie at all. |

Lol, I thought that line was funny too, in the sense that it sounded pathetic! Hagrid figured it out pretty quickly too didn't he, that it had been 'tampered with', lol! I think Tom Felton is a great actor, much better in the 2nd than the 1st film and still much better than some of the other younger cast members (Didn't think much to Bonnie Wright's acting or the Phelps twins or the guy who plays Neville!). |
