So do 1980 babies.....
My mum was born on Valentines Day and they named her Valerie (but she's known as Val), and then I was due around the same date and she was worried cos she didnt think it would be nice for a kid to share their birthday with a parent, so it was good I was born the day before.

My Grandmother died around Easter too. It's weird, she died when I was ten, so thirteen years ago almost, but sometimes I still miss her. I wonder if you ever completely get over losing someone you love?

My Grandmother died around Easter too. It's weird, she died when I was ten, so thirteen years ago almost, but sometimes I still miss her. I wonder if you ever completely get over losing someone you love? Hmm...it's been about that long since my grandma died, too...she died just 2 days before my b-day. (We still had my b-day, even tho our beagle got into the cake. ) Funny, she's been in my thoughts lately; she was in my dream last night. I think it's ok and understandable to *miss* somebody, be they a person or an animal or whatever. Esp. lately I've been missing having someone fluffy to hug....Winnie died just before last Halloween. I "miss" her, but I don't wish her back. She moved on confidently, and whatever she's doing is What She's Meant To Do. As far as "completely getting over" somebody....well, wouldn't *that* constitute forgetting them completely? ANYONE----whom you have loved, and who has loved you in return---NEVER should you get "completely over" them. You are marked, by their love, forever. And whatever wonderful things they gave you, you need to remember and give to others. A few of my students--a brother and sister and their younger sister, moved to Florida in 1999. After they'd been there a couple months, the girl wrote me and said "Ms.------, I'm spreading your love, just like you told me to." Donna P.S. They moved back, and live across the street from me now. lol

Very true, and I actually had a dream about my Grandmother the other day....actually it's kinda' silly, but my dreams usually are. I was dreaming I was on John Edward's show cos I'd heard on the news he was in Melbourne, and I got to speak to her sorta' thing. Anyways, I woke up and I actually felt like she was there. It scared the hell outta' me and I slept with my light on for two nights in a row. I don't normally really believe in ghosts, and I've never seen one, felt anything etc, but this seriously freaked me out....

I don't remember my Grandma much, nor the funeral or anything even though I was ten. My brother, who was eight at the time, remembers it all. I think perhaps I chose not to remember it more than anything? It was perhaps one of those traumatic events we chose to forget, and therefore in the process I forgot her? Interestingly Mum said at the funeral I'd written a poem or something to be read out, and it had everyone in tears...I don't remember that either.
