I am not allergic to onions, but I won't peel them because when they make my eyes run they hurt my contacts and sometimes my contacts come out. So no more peeling onions for me.

Mandragora that book The Science of Shopping sounds utterly FASCINATING!!!! Who wrote it? Do you think I could find it on Amazon? And uh,.....I like dancing around, too. And allergies, I have had/have them! I had to be allergy tested when I was 9......it came up dogs, horses, grass, olive trees, etc etc. We had a dog; I rode horses twice a week, we had grass of course, and olive trees in our yard. My brother and I got allergy shots every week for a while, but eventually we grew out of them. Also I am allergic to grapes...which I didn't used to be, and it's unfortunate because I love them, but it's not worth it to even eat 2 or 3 because if I do then I get a bad rash in a visible area which doesn't go away for 2 weeks!!! Fears/Phobias: I couldn't live alone, either. I have a surplus imagination....I'd never sleep! Even when I was about 4, I couldn't even make it thru the night alone; I'd run down the hall to my parents or climb into my brother's crib! I have a weird thing about linen.....I don't like it. Donna

I cannot believe we are talking about allergies, hahahaha. But well, allergies to onions, grapes... how do you guys live? I am allergic to painkillers, except paracetamol, which is really BAD since that painkilers these days are usually an odd mixture of paracetamol and aspirins, and aspirins can kill me... I am not kidding, I was on ER once because of that. I am allergic to plasticware contacting my tongue... but I have learned the art of using it without actually me ending up sucking my plastic sthingy... it's crazy, but heck. Donna, the book is entitled, "Why We Buy: THe Science of Shopping" by Paco Underhill. Actually the book is a result of Underhill's research firm called Envirosell --- if you're interested to STUDY shoppers by being one of their trackers, I think their main office is in NY. The book is really interesting, especially if you're in the retail business... well, I am not, but since that my thesis in architecture is on the sociology of shopping malls, the book is quite helpful. Fun to read too, you know, I bet Amazon has it. The book actually has some points on shoppers' psych, and well, my interest is the spatial, really... oh dear, I wouldn't be surprised if I get to design shops in the future! My dream shop to design: a bookstore, a music store, a coffee shop, and retail outlets of nice clothesstore... from Kate Spade to Cynthia Rowley to Vera Wang!

As far as I know I don't have any actual allergies to food, but then there are certain foods which I basically refuse to eat. For example: peas. I cannot stand the things, and I am the only person I know who manages to eat say a fried rice or stir fry with peas in it, by picking around the peas and not taking long to do it and leave just peas on the plate.... And I hate hayfever too. Because I have sinus problems hayfever makes it even worse...And then there's the asthma thing. I'm better now than I was, when I was 16 or so I basically couldn't leave the house for months on end cos it was so bad. Now I use the nebuliser (the thing from hospital) twice a day at a minimum, and more if I am having a bad day....

poor children i shed a tear for you all.. your allergies are interesting, and seriously, i've never heard of someone being allergic to plastic or onions before.. i'm allergic to coconut...and u wanna know how i found out? well, fourth grade: this girl brings in a coconut cake, with coconut shavings and coconut milk..so i decided to have a helping..the worst decision in my life..i ended up having a swollen face and was violently sick for a week .. and mandragora..i've been to some really interesting shopping malls..they're all glass, chrome and extremely big..i find that the most interesting malls that i like to shop in, make it seem as if you're outside...that's why i love glass ceilings and such...if we're still here and all friends by the time that you design a mall, invite me to the opening, i'd love to see! ;D

Hayfever's such a bugger,its so annoying!!
>< *fume* lol.
speaking of food you refuse to eat..im not too keen on peas myself... but this is VERY odd now..by talking about that ausaims, you made me think of my eating habits...
and my god they are STRANGE! if i tell you what i had for breakfast this morning, you will all think i'm a freak!
either i have extremely weird taste buds,or... melon and salt and vinegar crisps is a nice combination first thing in the morning!! *ignores all of you saying "eww" and making remarks about that*
another thing i like, and i know im not the only one (thank god!) is ice cream (its gotta be vanilla) and smokey bacon crisps.
and my most recent fascination is... Rice with bananas in it
trust me though, these things DO taste nice lol
one thing i refuse to eat though...BROCCOLI! *shudders at the thought* and....and and...SPROUTS! AND.... more worse than anything... MAYONNAISE!!!! *gags n dies*

Now I use the nebuliser (the thing from hospital) twice a day at a minimum, and more if I am having a bad day.... Omg....ausaims...!!! lol....when I eat fried rice with peas in it, I get around them, too!!! The funny thing is, when I was very young, peas were the only vegetable I'd eat, but I can't stand them now!! I have asthma, too! <g>.....when I was in elem. school, we'd have to run to the playground wall and back, and I'd always be the last one, clutching at my side and wheezing! Eventually they discovered it was asthma. And I'd get bronchitis once a year in Nov. and Dec., which worsened my asthma, which resulted in my having to go to the hospital once or twice a day to use the nebulizer. It's been better, tho...knock on wood...my last reallly bad case was '88...I remember cuz I couldn't go to school; all I could do was lie on the couch and watch the Olympics. I don't have a case as bad as yours, but....if I walk far/long/fast, I get coughing/wheezing. I even had special parking in college because of it. I'm glad I'm not in college anymore because for some reason they now require you to have a handicapped plate to get the special school parking. Which is kinda ridiculous; I mean, if I'm going shopping or something I go early to make certain I get a good spot, but at that college there's *never* any regular parking because it's overcrowded. They don't get it. My mom is allergic to plastic. She has a tough time with glasses, cuz they rarely ever make glass frames anymore. The worst medication reaction I ever got was when I was 8 and I got my vaccinations. I got one in my arm and it swelled up red and I was sick for a couple weeks. Donna

One thing I cannot stand, PICKLES in my sandwich. I love mayonaisse, I often have bread with just a heaping of mayo on it. And horseradish, and alll those sandwich toppings... I have a friend who cannot stand catsup, haha. I am starting to get hungry! One thing I love that you guys probably find gross: swee banana catsup with my rice and soy sauce with my rice... without anything else on it. I can live with that. And milk with rice with a sprinkle of sugar, YUM! Hehehe, I am a rice girl, truly Asian I have to have my seving of rice everyday because if not, I'd go MAD

Geez....all this food stuff.....
I am a verrrry picky eater. Esp. when it comes to condiments...I do NOT use them...only salt on extreme occasions. When I order a mocha I always order without whip cream cuz not only is it fattening but I don't like it. In the morning all I have is a large iced, nonfat mocha which I make myself.

Mandragora, i'm allergic to painkillers too. execpt im allowed paracetamol and ibruprofin. it sucks though doesn't it. cos just when your incredibly ill at 9 years of age with Pneumonia, you cant take the drug that will make you better and if you do take it, you only get worse!
i love being alone because im a very independant person, but i can scare myself easily. for example i used to be very much into Wicca and Witchcraft, and once when i cast at midnight on the autumn equinox i scared myself nutstless at every little sound i heard because i wasd doing it outside. so i couldn't do it properly cos i couldn't concentrate!
im also slightly anemic, and although ive never fainted in my life, i get bad dizzy spells and weaknesses especially when i havnt drunk or eaten anything for a while or taken my iron tablets. i hate having to remember to take medication!

I'd be in some major trouble if I was allergic to painkillers since I tend to have a lot of them for my back. The average panadol tablet does pretty much nothing, so I've got pretty strong ones for the pain.
