Yeah, he's perfect for Barty! And Viggo would make a fantastic Aragorn. I'd love to see Orly as Cedric, but that's never gonna happen. Maybe Orly as Barty?

Orlando doesn't fit my image of Barty Crouch either!! And the very idea, to me, anyway, of him playing a high school student is idiotic. Not that he isn't gorgeous enough to be Cedric...he is....if he had a real-life younger brother, if I were the casting director-- I'd be auditioning his bro now. Remember, he's supposed to be just 2 years older than the trio (as Cedric)..'wouldn't work. Neither would him as Viktor...Orlando Bloom paired with Emma Watson? Noooo......I know she's looking more mature all the time but that would be silly. The HP movies are unusual in that they have teenagers playing teenagers. Most other teen movies don't, but the HP productions DO. Thus, anyone in their mid 20's would look out of place.

Orly as Viktor? Hmm...Maybe they could scale it down to make him look shorter, like they did with CC. And they could give him bushy brows and a prosthetic nose! *evil grin*

I can't think of a Viktor Krum casting yet, though the guy that plays Flint in HP would probably fit... they'll probably cast an unknown

I see things haven't changed. Sean still has a fan-following? Yes, Sean teaches English-- which must make you a M**** D** student. Does that uniform of yours still include a pink skirt? I remember trying not to laugh when I visited him on campus Nov 2001 because of all the pink. My meeting Sean actually has a weird story behind it. I met Sean either late Oct. or Nov. 1997. I was reading "The Bell Jar" in a laundromat (our machine was broken) and he came up to me and said, "Great writer, that Sylvia Plath. Her poetry kicks *ss." Or something to that effect. We chatted for a bit about what we liked to read... and then we both went on our merry ways. I OFFICIALLY met him December 8th of that same year when I found out that he was one of those student teachers from NY working in the district for their credentials. (Why they plan that cross-country thing is beyond me.) We spent the week trading poetry (he read over my notebooks of my god-awful stuff and I copied his entire notepad), then he went off at the end of that week. We became fabulous friends through correspondence. Then the following year, he accepted a pretty good teaching job here in California and I was in a position to see him often. And he became a pretty good mentor/big bro type for me. Still has a lot of influence on my writing. Funny how we're still friends... He does theatrical performances during the summer... Never does have any trouble landing any roles... If only he wasn't a teacher, I'm sure he'd make a great professional actor... or writer. Give him my regards, as you'll probably see him before I will. Oh, and reiterate the Barty Crouch idea. He'll probably be more receptive to it if he hears it from more than one of us. The uniform is still pink and he does have a fan club. He's a poet? Me wants to hear more. I e-mailed him about your message. Does your name start with a C?

Sean Cowley, the poet. That's his whole name-- including the comma. He's so much a poet that it's part of his identity. Here's one of his poems... I think he wrote this in 1997. It's untitled... and anyone copying it had better d**n well credit him because it's copyrighted.
There are moments that I cry For love, for life For you and I These tears won't cry in vain for you These tears that cry like rain for you I love I die I live I cry That's why these tears are precious The salty prize of strife Fragile hands that hold in them My heart My love My life More perfect than the diamond More precious than the gold The dripping fire of hot desire
Another love gone cold -Sean Cowley
At the time, I thought that this was f-ing brilliant. I still do, but now I think that it's because he wasn't afraid to write down what he was feeling IN SPITE of the cliches. And I think that he pulled them off with such honesty... But yeah, if you quote this back to him, we'll see if he doesn't give you an automatic A.
Oh, yeah... And my name does start with a C. Tell him I might visit the class and that I want my Romeo and Juliet tape back... he's had it for 4 years.

That was tight! Mr. Cowley was so impressed. He says to come on over and can he keep the Romeo and Juliet tape until after he teaches the play.
