that's true... when i went to italy last summer, there were men fully hugging and kissing cheeks in the street...they're (non americans/canadians) are more aware of their feelings, and are more accustomed to openly showing their respect for each other... i know that the minute two guys hug here, they're considered gay...it's such taboo in the western culture
so i for one am confused by which culture to follow, my italian heritage where we kiss on the cheek or the canadian one where we shake hands?
btw, i'm starting to like british guys more than ever now...but, i've never really seen open affection in the UK before...hmm, am i going to the right places? ;D

british men definately aren't openly affectionate, most british guys feel the need to act macho and tough all the time, it can get very annoying! it really annoys me when 2 guys hug they're considered gay, but when 2 women hug they're not, stupid! why have different rules for each gender!

I've probably read all of them lol! My personal favourite (Tom) fic would be "The Years of the snake" on FA.org and I am Lord Voldemort on Fanfiction.net. Also Dreamwalk blue is good and I cant remember any more names but there's one were Tom/Giny get lost in time and they go to the Moulin Rouge etc! It's a laugh lol. Red the Draco stories by Cassandra Claire, she's prob the best fanfiction writer ever lol!! And if you like Slytherin based fics check out the Slytherin Rising Series! It's sssooo Sssslytherin!. A few more popular ones are Barb's Psychic Serpent stories and Lori's Pardigum of Uncertianty, Ms Snape's The Staff of Ornkey is very good as well! In fact they are all good on FA.org! lol

Oh I like Tom/Ginny, but it isn't a favorite.
I go to ff.net too. It's where I always go, but I've been to fa.org a few times and read some nice Tom fics. I'll find some more later

A moment back to men who kiss eachother on cheeks when meeting eachother: I don't know if we do, I almost never do that! (only to very very very good and close friends ;D ) and heterosexual men I know never do that, think they rather kiss a - pff, what shall I say - a frog or something like that instead of eachother!

My favorite fanfiction ever is The Buried Life, on fanfiction.net. It's a Hermione/Snape story, and it's sooooooo good! I think it's as good or better than J.K.'s books (sorry, J.K.)! It's romance/angst/humor/ action...basically everything. Warning, though, it's verrrrry long.

Well today I was in Robinsons-May (that's a US dept. store), and while my mom was checking out at the cash register in one area, I went over to the adjacent area (jewelry), and there was an entire display of HP watches!! Now, you see, watches are very important to me. It's an item I wear everyday..since I was 8 and got my first watch... ....anyhow I was excited and I looked to see if there were an Hermione (Emma Watson) watch, and there was! Woo hoo! I looked further and found one with Harry, Ron and Hedwig in the flying car, looking all shocked/scared (you've seen that pic)....I looked more and more and there WAS a Voldemort watch, but did it have a freakin' picture of Christian?! NOOOOOO.....it did not. All it said was "YOU-KNOW-WHO." Geez. Thanks a lot, Warner Bros. Anyway, there were a few others, too: 2 nice illustrated ones of Harry (one w/wand, one w/Snitch) as well as a Fawkes one, which was nice too, but I already have a Fawkes watch. They're $14.99 each. warner bros really need to learn that if they put cc on merchandise they'd make a lot more sales! i'd deffinately by a watch with a pic of cc on it!
i know what u mean about wtaches being important to u, i can't ever remember not wearing a watch, i feel lost without my watch!

i'm one of those ppl who thinks watches clash with EVERYTHING i wear...so i never where them .. lol.. ;D about the TR merchandise, seriously, if there were books, and posters, and t-shirts...anything with CC/TR, i would buy it regardless of price... ;D i seem to have hp stuff about ppl i really don't like Donna, here's a mission, go down to WB and ask why even tho TR is an essential character, how come there aren't any posters of him in the HP Poster book?

Well, I seriously doubt they'd let me in just to criticize their publicity dept...<g>....however if/when I encounter another kid whose parent works at WB, I'll say something. Angela, I have a solution to the "clash" problem. ...I, for one, have numerous watches of different designs, characters, and colors. Fortunately, my Frodo watch with Elijah's face is black and gold, and basically goes with everything. Donna
