Abou the pipes: I'm sure that as Hogwarts went through the new ages, it also changed to accomodate the times. So, when indoor plumbing was introduced, Hogwarts updated with indoor plumbing and pipes.

i dunno! but even if they are surely all the pipes all over the school aren't that big!?! like taz said it must have magical powers!
oh and i don't get the end bit where they're flying outta the chamber, why does the pipe seem to lead outisde hogwarts? surely some1 would have noticed a big hole in the floor!!

yeah it does seem to have more mistakes than the 1st 1!
it's still a great movie, it's just that some of the mistakes seem a bit obvious, like they could have easily been corrected!!

what i really didn't understand from the movie (if anyone brought this up before i'm sorry) was why they praised hagrid at the end, when he didn't do anythingalso, i was watching the philosopher's stone today and after harry gets neville's remembrall back from malfoy, and everyone runs up to him to congradulate him, why were crabe and goyle and the rest of slytherin, for that matter, screaming for harry too?

I dunno....it kinda gets tedious picking movies to bits all day ....but it's still Cool and Crazy But I just wanna know how there can really be any mistakes in a movie like the HP ones...coz anything can happen in HP-land coz you just go 'ohhh, thats magic that is!' and it's all ok. So the pipes prolly do shrink to fit, and the hole in the floor is prolly invisible and..... ;D

Hmm....the pipes in COS didn't really bother me...lol....for one moment I wondered, "How could the basilisk have fitted thru the sink?" but I mean, if a 16-year-old prefect from 40 or 50 years ago can so perfectly holographically project himself into a diary for the future that somehow manages to verbally respond correctly to people who are actually alive, well, then (also see: "50 Ways To Annoy Voldemort" thread under this same COS section) I can believe almost anything. As for Hagrid, the admin. at TLC (The Leaky Cauldron) was really adamant about that---ie how the freakin' h*ll did Hagrid become the HERO of the movie? Altho---to me----I guess this is a different viewpoint---I didn't focus so much on him as I did the kids---how they all seemed to unite via their caring for someone else not a member of any House. I also think I read somewhere that the focus on Hagrid at the end has something to do with a future occurrence---altho why that has anything to do with the future I dunno. Donna

i read somewhere that the whole "it isn't hogwarts without u hagrid" thing is implying that hagrids gonna be the one to die in OotP could be i suppose.

I wondered about the Hagrid thing too, but I figured it out the second time I saw the movie. I am pretty sure everyone was clapping for him because Tom Riddle had gotten him kicked out of Hogwarts 50 years ago, yet he remained a loyal employee all that time. And now his name had officially been cleared (at the end of COS), it was like they were clapping because now he had officially been proved innocent...it was like he had been set free from prison after 50 years and could be an important member of Hogwarts. Everyone was clapping for his devoted service to Hogwarts.

Yeah....that's what I think I read somewhere......I guess the producers would be "in on it"--ie since Robbie Coltrane alluded that he didn't have to sign for all 7 movies as some people did---
And yeah, I guess...there's more to the scene at the end than the surface..the "surface" being the implication that Hagrid is the hero of the movie....but think about it....Harry gave him a huge hug....Hermione was crying....when earlier in the movie they'd all suspected him of letting the monster loose on the school!!
Ahhh, the layers....layers aren't only on photoshop, apparently....<g>....
