I was looking at the Muggle Pride Zone [ MPZ ] site and I read this. Just note I guess, that none of this is confirmed;
THE DEATH of Richard Harris has left the makers of the Harry Potter films with the prospect of trying to find a new star to play Professor Albus Dumbledore.
...Warner Brothers, the Hollywood studio that is to produce the seven films over the next decade, had no comment on the search for a new Dumbledore. However, a studio insider said they had to find somebody quickly to replace the "amazing and wonderful" Harris for the third film.
"He must be tall, classic and British, or at least appear so," said the executive.
Three years ago the studio unsuccessfuly approached Sir Sean Connery to play the role.
Its current wish list includes Christopher Lee, 80, the actor who made his reputation in horror films. He is six feet, five inches tall.
Lee was considered for a role in the first Harry Potter film, but was too busy playing Saruman the White in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Count Dooku in the most recent instalment of Star Wars.
If he does take over the role of Dumbledore, Lee - whose autobiography is entitled Tall, Dark and Gruesome - will have appeared in all three of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood history after outliving his first screen incarnation as Dracula.
An outsider to play the snowy-bearded Dumbledore is Harry Robinson, a bit-part actor who plays a wizard on the stairs greeting children as they arrive at Hogwarts in the first two films. He has previously played small roles in films such as Shadowlands and also acted as Harris's screen double.
