My name, Catriona, is the Gaelic version of my real name, Kathryn. It's a bit of a nod to my Irish heritage.
I like finding out about all these names I have become so familiar with over the past few months. It's nice when we get to share stuff like this.

I've seen "Moulin Rouge" too many times and my favorite thing in the world is the opera "La Boheme" ....Baz Luhrman needs to cast me in one of his movies, quick!

I love "Moulin Rouge" too, I don't mind seeing it over and over and over... The scenes just make my hair stand on one end. Just... spectacular, spectacular! Do you suppose our names (the real ones) have, uh, Gaelic versions? I was named after an Aga Khan princess, though I've seen a Dutch version.

"Moulin Rouge" is wonderful... And I didn't want to see it, at first. Up until then, I wasn't a big fan of Nicole Kidman... and I hated Baz's "R&J." But it truly is wonderful...

I'm called cheesy_badgers on quite a few forums and it's my e-mail address. It comes from one time on the official Sean Biggerstaff website when for some reason in one of his diary entries he said 'And on a more serious note, cheesy badgers!', I don't get where the cheesy bit comes from but apparently badgers are his fave animal, lol! Moulin Rouge is a great film, I love Ewan, he's such a great actor and wow, he can sing! I don't like Nicole Kidman much either, she's ok in Moulin Rouge but she comes across quite arrogant I find in interviews.

About the Gaelic thing...I just happen to like Celtic countries, I could have picked any variation of my name. I bet if you look in any Baby Name book it would tell you the origins and variations of your name. For instance, Mary in Spanish is Maria, etc.

Wel... guess mine's a pretty easy one... My real name is Saskia, and my forumname is Zoeperzazke, but I think that's pretty Dutch and most of you won't have any idea how to pronounce that So I choose Sassy, that's how most English/American people call me...

Umm, have always been very Hermione-esque in everything I do. "We could all have been killed -or worse, expelled" might as well be my motto. I guess this also makes me a big nerd, but I don't see anything wrong with that ;D. I can also relate to a lot of her other personality traits, especially in Goblet of Fire when she's dealing with Ron and Harry's fight and later on their (somewhat pathetic) attempts at trying to get dates for the Yule dance.
I post as hermione on ice on a lot of other forums because 'plain' Hermione has already been claimed as a screen name and I'm on the precision skating team in my home town. Hence, "on ice" =).
