First class degree

Hi there CC fans!

I was a quiet observer of this wonderful forum for all this while, and I guess it's inspired me enough to come into the light and post this message.

I never knew anything about Christian until I watched HPCOS, because I'm in Singapore and we don't get FS or WSC or any of his stuff here. When I first saw him I was full of awe at his acting. I just had to check his profile and I was overwhelmingly filled with respect this time, when I discovered that not only is he a marvellous actor but he's also got a first class degree from Clare; in other words, he's multi-talented and diligent.

I was wondering whether one of you CC fans could answer this question for me:

Is it hard to get a first class degree from a prestigious instituition as Clare and what criteria should one fulfill in order to receive a first class?

I know it's not like any of the other posts here, but I had to ask someone. Universities differ from one another when they award candidates with their respective classes and I just have this splintering temptation to compare the first class that's awarded at my university with that of Clare. Why? Because Christian went there! ... Not that it really matters, but I guess it comes as part of the CC-mania - how much he's like me and for that matter, how different as well !!!

Also, I've to say this, if Christian EVER visits CC.com, he should be proud of it and full of heartfelt gratitude as well for defending him when required and all the courage and support that's constantly being conveyed. It's not always that an actor / actress receives all this.

I think my dad (he went to university in the UK, he's english) may have explained that to me. when you get your first degree it can be a first or a second, if its a second that means you did quite well. and if you get a first it means you did very well. now i am pretty sure that this serves as almost like a resume. like you get a better placing at another university if you have a first, or you get a better offer on a job if you get a first.

at least that's what i think it is from what my dad said.

i have no idea what all the different levels of degrees mean, i really should find out tho i suppose seeing as tho i'm in my 1st year of uni now!

Thanx for the info. Well if it's anything like getting straight A+'s then ... wow ... !!! ... indescribable !!! Anyway, he's a good actor and is sincerely devoted to acting and I should respect him for that and not only his first class.
Like many of you guys, I'm still trying to get a fair idea of what kinda' person he really is - he's so ... so ... mysterious ()

Well. MAybe he's got some weird or extreme hobbies like playing the bongo with his head and bungee jumping during the full moon or something like that Or maybe he's got this secret lab ala Jekyll and Hyde, nyahahaha

I swear I must have memorized every line in that movie. *chuckles, amused by own lack of sanity* Have you seen the thread, Things To Do When Tom Riddle Comes On Screen? Some of the ideas are veryyyy funny. I tried a few. I yelled, "First dibs on mouth to mouth," and I repeated all of his lines for the audience. Heh-heh. Oh, and the second time I saw COS, I stood up in my seat and screamed hysterically. I then fell forwards onto the people in front of me. I'm still amazed I didn't get kicked out. I tend to get crazy at the movies. At TT, I stood and cheered when Legolas skidded down the stairs on his shield. And I repeated all of the Gollum-Smeagol arguments. I know, I know, I'm a freak, and proud of it!

Well, I've memorized every Tom Riddle part ... don't really have space in my brain to get in the rest ... have a major major project to work on
