I just read the other day somewhere---I don't remember where---that Elijah said he only did "Flipper" so he could swim with the dolphins. (It sort of was implied that he knew it wasn't the greatest script.)

You know what sux? Even new Star Drek movie knows how to promote itself to young people. I caught ST:Nemesis special on Much Music (canadian MTV) and they did this 1 hour special with Tom Hardy, the brit hottie in his early 20s who plays the bad guy. Only 5 minutes went on old actors and the rest was Tom showing his tatooes and lots of close-ups of his cute face, kissable lips and what not he can cut it as cedric Diggory if WB is foolish enough not to cast orlando Bloom. So blame WB they really screwed it up biggo time! CC must be the only hottie never to get hyped despite having his break in one of the biggest movie franchises. This is really unique. Q is why?

Maybe WB has some misperception of what is a 'hottie' I think the mistake is that they wanted to have the Tom Riddle character a mystery because he IS the Dark Lord, back again, this time in his 16 year-old self. The problem with them is that they probably didn't consider those who have read the books who knows stuff waay beyond the fact that Tom is Voldemort. They have probably put some consideration to those who haven't read the book, like this whole Tom thing is the cat in the bag not worth buzzing about, as a form of their silly strategy. WB should have promoted equally their CoS actors like how they did in Two Towers. I have to admit, the whole CoS promo this time is bad, with or without Christian. The hype is not as worked up as it used to, and now look at the Two Towers. Everybody's too hyped up to see it, I wouldn't be surprised if it beat the first HP film off its current position. Hmm... maybe Titanic even?

I think Orlando is too old to play Cedric. My theory is, they'll go with an unknown.....I read on Snitchseeker that a rumor is, they've finished the casting, which is likely because I read somewhere else about Tom Felton already going in for costume fittings....they start filming in Feb. or March. Yep, Romana....I agree with you on Star Trek's promotion....and I dunno about the rest of the world, but here in the US, on the commercials for Nemesis, basically each turn they show the "bad guy." And yeah, the first time I saw it I thought he was pretty hot. Which, DIE-HARD Star Trek fans would wonder why they're not showing the main cast, but we all know what they look like (plus they're trying to persuade young women to go with their partners to see it ) Which...brings us back to WB's publicity for COS. WE already KNEW what the 3 kids looked like...I STILL think they should've put out a poster of Tom Riddle saying "WHO IS TOM RIDDLE?" and still keep the freakin' suspense. Donna

yeah the bad guy in nemisis looks pretty hot i think orlando looks too old for cedric. they should have included tom riddle in the promotion somewhere, leaving him out of it completely was kinda stupid!

Well it occurred to me earlier this evening that I guess they have NOT completely finished casting POA, as Dumbledore hasn't been announced....hmm....they keep talking Christopher Lee...and he said that he would be willing to play it, but he wouldn't play it the same as Harris did (come to think of it, I don't think Dumbledore would have been so...."tired")....they mention other famous names---Sir Richard Attenborough, Sean Connery....they could go with an unknown, as well. ?
I was thinking about publicity for POA when it comes out, and I think they should (sort of) cater to the people who've actually read the books....for example, they should do a poster with the gorgeous guy playing Cedric and in huge letters across his chest, *THIS* IS CEDRIC DIGGORY. Because we all know, ahem, that we're waiting to see the guy who plays him, right ladies? I certainly know I am....like I said, it should be someone in their early 20's, so to cater to teenagers AND young adult women. And they should do a poster for Sean Biggerstaff, and Draco Malfoy too (many girls like him). And for God's sake, IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY ROWLING ;D, cast people who are mysterious AND sexy as Sirius Black and Lupin. Put them ALONE on posters---with some intricately shadowed angles---and splash huge letters across them---MEET PROFESSOR LUPIN---and WHO IS SIRIUS BLACK?
Aha. ;D

I doubt TTT will beat Titanic because first movie didn`t. First movie made almost $1 billion less than titanic so I can`t imagine why would the sequel suddenly make $2 billion? There are many people who didn`t like FOTR and there are still fantasy haters who don`t watch such movies and won`t be converted no matter what hype says. besides, Titanic is what it is because people who never go to cinema went to see it. Neither HP nor LOTR nor Spiderman nor SW managed to do that. In short, fantasy movies do great job at the box office but there`s a limit. Movies like Gone With a Wind and Titanic are rare treat but when they hit the screen they go off limit.
WB`s campaign destroyed CoS box office drive in US. I smelled trouble the moment I saw first poster - it was Dobby! I was like "OMIGOSH, it sux! They don`t want to acknowledge that CoS isn`t for kids but for older audience. This is taking wrong direction." OTOH, Spiderman was marketed with upside kiss! Who wants to see HP after that?
