I think a lot of people do. I don't know that I'd ever set a target as such, but I think I sure had different ideas of what I'd be doing at this age.....Luckily it doesn't phase me too much.

Sampaguita, being your age I know exactly what you mean. I, too, am going through a quarter-life crises- or as I like to call it, a "pre-life crises." There's so many confusing messages about when to start a relationship, when to get married, etc. For instance, there's my aunt who hadn't been kissed when she was 40 and one year later she's married. And then there's these two kids I heard about getting married who are in grade twelve.
As I sit in my university classes, I look aroud me and see so many different people at so many different levels. There's the girl on one side who's just going on her first date, and the girl beside me who's married with a kid, and they're both 21! I think the best thing is to move at your own pace. I'm twenty and I don't plan to settle down for awhile, so don't worry. Some people don't even get married until they're 75!

Just like that Poe song... walk on the beat of your own drum! ... or maybe biological clock, in that sense. Well, I am pushing 24 in less than a couple of months, and I never REALLY had a boyfriend, if you know what I mean, but then so effing what? I just consider myself too much of a catch for the men I've met so far in this small life... and considering I haven't seen the world yet!

I just consider myself too much of a catch for the men I've met so far in this small life... and considering I haven't seen the world yet! Mandragora I think the same way....I often think I have more fun alone (going to the bookstore, shopping, etc) than I have with some people. In fact there are only 2 people I know who I'm really compatible shopping with. Some people would say we're too picky. Some say that the older you get, the less picky you'll be...but I seem to be getting MORE picky.....which I think means we're more comfortable with ourselves. I don't want to go out with just *anyone*---and I haven't come across anyone who's both worthy of me AND at the same time, the conditions are right. I'm older than you guys.....take my word for it: age is simply a *number*. Don't set limits and/or goals for yourselves based on a a couple of freakin' digits!!! Donna

I know what you mean! I am technically "not single" since I have a steady boyfriend, but sometimes I wonder how I will ever be able to commit myself for the rest of my life. For instance, I love sleeping alone in my own bed, I don't know how I am going to share! And I love to do lots of stuff alone like shopping in bookstores and taking walks and stuff

LOL I know what you mean about sleeping alone in the bed. I never sleep as well when my boyfriend's over because I want the whole bed to myself. Besides he's always cold so he complains... GR!

Being alone in bed... nothing wrong with it, but like a few hours ago, I am in my own bedroom and I was starting to have some disturbing thoughts (ah, you know, about the F word --- FUTURE)... and I really could use someone to talk to at that moment that I ended up talking IN MY HEAD!
ACH, I am in a crisis myself. Can I ask you guys a question? How do you make your own decisions? Do you flip a coin and let fate decide for you or you just follow your instincts despite the fact your instinct is pushing you to the, er, 'against-the-flow' direction?

I believe very much in following your own instincts. After all isn't an instint basically something which knows what you want, and what's right for you?
Although I have been known to ask my magic eight ball very important questions like "Should I wear a skirt tonight?" or "Should I bother going to the party?"
Maybe I should even ask the tarot cards: my parents bought me some to muck around with the other year, and I have a lot of fun telling all my friends' futures with them. Not that I believe in mind you, but it's sure a lot of fun....
