We gotta admit, it's fun making speculations ;D I've been reading LOADS from different HP websites since last year, from the pairing to the final duel between Voldy and Harry, and it's not far off that some of the specualtions coincides with JKR's ideas! The speculations are quite good, actually.
Re the article for bidding, minds will start working.... what has Ron got to do with it? Is he going to be on the Quidittch team? The Weasley's are finally going to have a house-elf (Winky?)? JKR' s sorry... she might kill Ron? Hagrid? 16 year-old Tom is going to be resurrected again for the next three books? (not a bad idea!)
Maybe the clue from the CoS that foretells the upcoming books have something to do with Dumbledore's invovlvement with Harry. Read GoF, there's this unforgettable part in the last part where Dumbledore's eyes sparked in triumph... or maybe Harry IS the Heir of Slytherin (in his generation by the way)
Hmm... maybe JKR will bring something up about Tom's teen-age life, like if he had fallen in-love or something...

oh yeah making speculations is fun bring more draco into the stories jkr that's what i say and of course bring young tom riddle back again! oh and more lucius, infact just more 'bad' characters in general! from the words off that auction sheet so far i don't think u can determine anything of the actual plot of the book coz the words are just too general!

Ron on the Quidditch team....he DID picture himself as Quidditch captain in the Mirror of Erised, right?
I still linger on that image of Dumbledore's "look of triumph" that he gave upon hearing that Voldemort could now touch Harry....I mean, seriously, I was like, "What the (insert expletive here)?" I mean, it brings to mind the consideration that Dumbledore isn't on the correct side after all, but then why not simply hand him over to Voldemort then? But maybe Snape isn't good after all and that's why Dumbledore allows him to be a teacher. Eeeek.....JKR has everything in all 7 books outlined out; she's just filling it all in....she KNOWS what she's doing.....LOL.....
As for Harry being the Heir to Slytherin, isn't Tom Riddle the Heir to Slytherin? As for him being in love, well...maybe she'll write of him going off to America as a teen and falling in love with an American...lol....someone very petite with very long dark hair and light skin and big round green eyes.....someone who can act early 20's to act in the teens.....ME! <vbg> Still lol.... Keep dreamin', Donna.... ;D

If you're going to look for the 'look of triumph' of Dumbledore, turn to the last chapters where Harry explains what happened after he and Cedric touched the trophy (Goblet is quite long!)
Tom Riddle cannot have gone off to America (hahahaha)! That's the thing with waiting for Book 5, you start thinking of things! Good thing there is CC to occupy the other empty voids in my head... the inspirational part! ;D
There ARE speculations that link Dumbledore to Voldemort. I guess the challenge for JKR is that the story has now lots of possibilities, yet there are children reading the books too--- it's not children's lit anymore! But of course, she has this success to mature the story and stiull work around the General Patronage line.
I still vote for the Harry/Tom face off in the end where they are of the SAME age. (and same actors of course) ;D

The other night I had a dream where Tom Riddle (yay, ressurection!) and Harry had a face-off in a cave, Hermione was dead, Ron was dead, and Tom killed Harry, but, the same thing happened as the first time he tried to kill Harry, he ended up losing his powers but this time it actually killed him. I wrote like four paragraph of it down when I woke up but I lost the paper, dammit! Coulda been one controversial fanfic. ^_^ I should try writing it again. I'd prolly end up having ten thousand pissed fans screaming at me though. Hehe It'd be hella cool if the story actually came out as my dream. (Not to mention a bit.. scary) ;D

Hey! Guess what! I found the paper! I also typed it out.. and I'mma post it now! BUAHAHA! Its quite short though. And I'm not exactly a brilliant fanfic writer. At least mine has none of that romance bullcrap! BUAHAHA! Oh, and Ron and Hermione are dead, so is Voldemort(the reborn version) and Dumbledore. Voldemort had cornered Harry Ron and Hermione but Dumbledore came to the rescue and managed to save Hermione and Harry. Voldemort got Ron and Dumbledore, but also died. Now Harry is trapped in a cave with none other than Tom Riddle (he had just killed Hermione). Buahaha.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A look of intense hatred contorted Tom's face. He stood over Harry, his wand aimed straight at Harry's chest. "I should have killed you when I had the chance," Tom said, his eyes glowing scarlet. "Back in the Chamber. I'll admit I was wrong in not killing you straight away. But one never makes the same mistake twice."
Harry glared up at Tom, talking quickly. "You couldn't have killed me anyway. The same thing would have happened as the first time you tried. You can't--" Harry stopped, having just realized something. Tom couldn't kill him. He would just lose his powers again. Harry glanced over at Hermione's body. It was the only way. "For Hermione.." he whispered.
Tom didn't seem to hear him. "Yes, a problem even I did not forsee. Luckily it didn't come to that," Tom paused, lowering his wand slightly. "It's actually a good thing I didn't kill you. But, you helped bring me back again. Why, if you hadn't given the diary back to Malfoy, I wouldn't be here right now." Tom grinned maliciously down at Harry."Goodbye Potter." He again aimed the wand at Harry. "Avada Kedavra"
There was a blinding flash of green light, and a rushing sound. Harry's body went limp; he was no longer the Boy Who Lived. As Tom's cold laughter filled the cavern, the rushing sound came back towards him. He fell forward, dead.
For years to come wizards and Muggles alike told the story of Voldemort, the Dark sorcerer and Harry Potter, the boy with the lightning bolt scar.

Oh yeaaahhhhh....the Diary was given back to the Malfoys, wasn't it? Aha. That means somethin'. Somethin' for sure!!! Think about it...the diary still exists......it is still accessible....it didn't burn up or anything when Harry stuck the sword into it......
Young Voldemort is still in there.

Ok! I decided to make it into a slightly bigger fanfic. Buahaha. Anyways, Its not finished *yet*.. BUT if you wanna read it.. you can go here ;D I changed it a bit, I just made it so Dumbledore didn't die, at least not *during* my fic. And I added a certain character that wasn't in the equation before. Buahaha! I've been writing it because I couldn't sleep (I've been up since 4 am, blargh) and I fell inspired? I dunno. whatever. just read it.

That is SOME version! ;D
OH YES, MAYBE THAT'S IT! The Diary! It's still alive! If CoS carries the clue, the diary could be it!
*rejoice rejoice rejoice*
But I gotta admit, I don't like the Harry/Hermione pair up. Harry should be SINGLE until his death. Something like Voldemort and he are soulmates (heehee). Ron compliments Hermione more, and has more spice regarding their personalities. Harry and Hermione together are too boring... they're like Lily and James! Too old-fashioned ;D ;D!
Harry should be ALONE, that marks how, erm, special he is. Like Tom Riddle.

yup, lizifer is right, voldy is the last remaining ancestor of salazar slytherin. harry only got some slytherin stuff mostly because tom left some of it behind when he tried to kill harry.

i actually heard jason isaacs talk about lucius malfoy's adventures in love or something... about like the next book being about him and his early life and love... i can't tell if he was serious or joking, but he mentions it in two interviews that i've read.
i think neville can be brave... his parents were. he's just a wreck probably because of psychological damage, losing his parents at a young age. yes, harry too. but harry was still just a baby, and he suffers less seperation anxiety than neville. i think neville was a kid or something, right? hmm, i think i should reread the books for the 4th/5th/6th time again. it was crouch's son that did it to the longbottoms. still kinda eery to think how "madeye" tried to comfort neville with some tea and mentioning herbology. yeah, it was a scheme to get the sea life book to harry, but still it kinda creeps me out. like having neville talking unknowingly to the bad guy that screwed up his parents.
you kno what... there was something said about harry has to examine what death really is, in even closer ways... think harry has to go kill himself for an hour.. to be a ghost, search for someone on the ghost plane, talk to them, and then get resurrected? i've seen it happen in movies AND books (the mediator!)... one, where they freeze themselves so that their body kinda stops... and then turn into a ghost. then get unfrozen. there's bound to be a spell for everything!
i think the next round of reading hp, i'll try to examine everything very closely...

Lydia, That's an interesting theory about Harry dying and then coming back to life. Actually today during the play some of my fellow thespians <g> and I were discussing future occurrences....we think the 'phoenix' is a much greater theme than what most people think; and one of mentioned that Harry's and Voldemort's wand feathers are from the same exact bird....and in GOF V. tried to kill Harry but he couldn't.....they were in some sort of stasis....maybe ultimately when push comes to shove, because they are so closely 'related', Harry *is* going to have to die so Voldemort dies as well. And when you bring in the 'phoenix'---ie dying then "rising", maybe he'll end up back alive anyway. Oh btw, Lydia... ...Jason was kidding. I mean, he also said that with a lot of moisturizer and digital technology, he won't age for the 4th movie (because all the producers etc are concerned about Lucius Malfoy's aging). <g>
